CLUBHOUSE REDEVELOPMENT

The first stage of our club redevelopment – the access ramp – was officially opened by local parliamentarian, Tamara Smith, on Friday 1st December.  Some pictures can be viewed in the photo section of this website.

We are now working with the Council to finalise the plans for the second stage – the change rooms – and hope to commence work following our annual Open tournament on 15 January.    

Further donations, which would help with the third stage,  the kitchen upgrade, would still be greatly appreciated. This may be done through the Australian Sports Foundation, and can be made made tax free.   Details of how to contribute, and draft plans, can be found in the fundraising section of this website. SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLINIC

The next School Holiday Clinic will be held from 18-20th December.  Please note the change to Monday-Wednesday just this once.    No courts will be available on these mornings.  Details can be found here: Ballina Holiday term 4

Fundraising

BALLINA TENNIS CLUB IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Below is a prioritised list of capital works, the overall aim of which is to maintain Ballina as the leading tennis club in the region, in terms of participants & facilities.

Stage 1:        Construction of disabled access from car park                                  $ 20,000

Stage 2:        Extension and upgrade of toilet and change room facilities, including a disabled toilets and shower facilities                                                                     $210,000

Stage 3:        Extension and upgrade of kitchen                                                         $ 35,000

Stages 4 & 5: Installation of LED lights  and construction of four new courts                                                                                             $635,000

The first two stages are urgent and will be completed before further stages are considered, but plans and professional quotes or estimates have been prepared for all stages. By judicious financial management over several years the committees have accumulated $93,000 towards the clubhouse stages, while at the same time spending $20,000 on covering and upgrading the barbecue area in 2015 and $45,000 on resurfacing two courts in 2016. We have so far been successful in obtaining grant money from Ballina Shire Council ($20,000), NSW Government Community Building Partnerships ($17,000) and Commonwealth Government Building Better Regions Fund ($93,000) and continue to apply to both government and private sources.

TAX DEDUCTABLE DONATIONS

There is now the opportunity to make TAX DEDUCTABLE DONATIONS to the clubhouse stages of this project, via the Australian Sports Foundation. This is an opportunity for businesses or individuals to consider supporting tennis in Ballina.

TAX DEDUCTABLE DONATIONS can be made online (preferably) or by cheque (made out to ASF) or cash and the funds will be allocated to the club’s bank account every two months. Off line donations must be accompanied by a signed donation form (see below) and handed to the club, which will forward them to ASF for processing. Tax receipts will be issued by ASF via email.
